Adam OST .R. Ostrowski – musician, producer, instrumentalist, rapper. One of the most
hardworking and successful artists in Poland. For over 20 years, he has consistently followed
a chosen artistic direction. On the hip-hop scene in the country, he has achieved almost
everything.
Author of 30 original music albums. Holder of a Diamond Record for the album „Życie
po śmierci” (Life after death)
, as well as 10 platinum and 7 gold records, including two double platinum.
Five-time winner of the Fryderyk – Phonographic Academy Award. Since 1999, on one
continuous concert tour. His records, released on a grand scale, have repeatedly
debuted in first place on the OLIS sales list.
Sales of his album „Życie po śmierci” (Life after death) exceeded 120,000 physical copies,
becoming the best-selling CD in Poland in 2016 (both among
Polish and foreign repertoire). The content of this album is experiences and reflections related to
an important event in the musician’s private life, on which his musical career has
obviously left its mark. At the beginning of 2015, OST .R. underwent
a life-saving lung reconstruction procedure at the M. Kopernik Provincial Specialist Hospital in Łódź.
Appreciated by the late Czesław Niemen, he collaborated with Michał Urbaniak and
Janusz Grzywacz (Laboratorium band). Together with Kasia Nosowska, he was the
artistic director of the Męskie Granie 2013 tour. The MTV brand chose OST .R. as the first
Polish artist whose acoustic concert will bring the „Unplugged” format back to Polish viewers
after a 7-year break. Liked and appreciated abroad, he collaborated with musicians from
the American, British and Dutch hip-hop scenes. A graduate of the Łódź Academy
of Music in the violin class, he inventively uses his acquired classical knowledge in
compositions based on urban music.
OST .R. comes from a musical family, was born and raised in Łódź.
In 2017, he received the title of Honorary Citizen and the Decoration of Merit for the City
of Łódź from the city. He began his career in several local bands, but quickly became known to the rest
of the country as a solo artist. He broke through as the undisputed leader of
improvised rap competitions (freestyle battles). It was such a short and accidental performance on the stage
of the Łódź club Prokadencja that secured him a contract for his debut album in 2001 with
Asfalt Records. He was associated with this label for over 20 years. A friend of his fans, a sociable, open man
, modest in everyday life. Married, father of two sons.
